Mrs. Wanda Dianne Watkins, age 68, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at a local healthcare facility.
Mrs. Watkins was born in Canton, Georgia on February 8, 1957, daughter of the late Emory Lucine Clark and the late Edna Geraldine Crowe Clark. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Randall Gene Watkins, on April 10, 2024. Mrs. Watkins was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.
Mrs. Watkins was a gentle and loving lady that children were drawn to. With that natural talent, she spent many years teaching 3 year olds preschool at Rome First United Methodist Church Preschool and also was a Kindergarten aide at Elm Street Elementary School for several years. Her love of children was very evident in her life, and she especially loved sharing with the children in her preschool class about Jesus.
Mrs. Watkins was active for many years with the Women of Georgia Power and enjoyed gatherings with all of her Elm Street friends. Spending time with her family was always a top priority, especially her grandsons. She took Noah on Chick-fil-a dates every Thursday and facetimed Wyatt regularly.
Survivors include a daughter, Amanda Morgan (James); a son, William Watkins (Ashley); two grandsons, Noah Morgan and Wyatt Watkins; a brother, Mike Clark (Darlene); a sister, Vicky Black (Kim); nieces and nephews.
