Mr. Douglas Olin Self, age 82, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Mr. Self was born in Rome, Georgia on April 20, 1942, son of the late O.T. Self and the late Sara Madden Self. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Julie Presley. Mr. Self served as Vice President of Ennis Business Forms. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Mr. Self enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting and was a member of the Floyd County Wildlife Club.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Henson Self; three daughters, Lynnette Brammer (Brett), Susan Swader, and Kathryn Bryan (Allen); six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 2pm in the Chapel of Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Kathi Parchem officiating. Private inurnment will be held later at Myrtle Hill Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Sunday from 1pm until the service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1941 Shorter Avenue, Rome, GA 30165.
