Lavader Wilkins Freeman, age 85, of Rome, GA, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at her Residence.

        Mrs. Freeman was born in Floyd County on December 13, 1939, daughter of the late John Leroy Wilkins and the late Addie Eugenia Huggins. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, J.L. Wilkins, Roy Lawrence Wilkins, Barbara Jean Lambert, Jewell Alice Drummond, and Lois Faye Molock; her grandson, Casey L. McDonnell.

        Lavader graduated from East Rome High School and worked in retail at The Fahy Store and Miller Brothers before becoming a dental assistant. She also worked at The Music Depot store in Rome. She was an active member of Shorter Avenue Baptist Church, having worked in the Children’s Ministries, she also sang in the choir for many years.

        Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Jimmy ‘Ross’ Freeman; her daughter, Ann Marie McDonnell (Craig); her grandchildren, Logan McDonnell, Aspen McDonnell, Meredith McDonnell, Wayde McDonnell, and Alayzia Jackson; her great grandson, Atticus McDonnell; brother in law, Jesse Freeman (Fran), and Earl Drummond; her special friend, Lori Holloway, an inspiration to many, in facing life’s heartaches, thru her faith in God; a number of special nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

        Funeral Services will be on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with her Pastor Jeremy Albright officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

        The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel from 1:00pm until 2:45pm.

        Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home by 2:30 on Thursday and include Glenn Blackwell, Drew Molock, Shawn Drummond, Trenton Drummond, Dusty Nix, and Craig McDonnell.
