Ms. Mildred Katherine Redden Worthington, age 84, of Rome

Ms. Mildred Katherine Redden Worthington, age 84, of Rome, GA, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at her residence.

       Ms. Worthington was born on May 29, 1940, in Polk County, GA, daughter of the late Charlie Redden and the late Melinda Townsend Redden. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Harlan Eugene Worthington, a son, Allen Gurley, a grandson, Kevin Gurley, and by 3 brothers and a sister. Ms. Worthington retired from Kroger after over 10 years of service. She bagged groceries at the store but was even better at the claw machines the store had, bringing home numerous stuffed animals each day she worked. Ms. Worthington loved the outdoors and shopping. She was a great mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Ms. Worthington was of the Baptist faith and is now rejoicing in the presence of God for eternity.

       Survivors include 2 daughters, Barabara Rainwater (John), and Julie Boatfield; 2 sons, David Gurley (Sandra), and Jerry Gurley (Beckie); 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and another on the way; 2 siblings, Betty Patterson and Bill Redden; numerous nieces and nephews.

       In accordance with her wishes, Ms. Worthington will be cremated and no formal services will be held at this time.
