Mrs. Geneva Childers Hyde, age 78, of Cartersville passed away Monday, March 17, 2025, at Oakview Health and Rehab, Summerville.
She was born in Rome, GA, May 27, 1946, daughter of the late Gordon Lee Childers and Gladys Wilbanks Childers. Mrs. Hyde was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Hyde, daughter, Genise Marie Johnson, niece, Betty Ann Childers Davis, nephew, Ralph Corey Childers and longtime special friend, Johnny Smith. She was of the Baptist Faith and attended Reynolds Chapel Church. She was always willing to help others and aspired to be a nurse. Geneva was an avid reader, loved people and always gave the best advice.
Survivors include her sons, Jason Hyde (Kiursy Mejia Hernandez Hyde) and Dewayne Hyde; daughter, Rachel Hyde grandchildren, Lee Young (Sandy), Barry Young, Eric Young, Hayley Hyde, Daniel Hyde (Claudia), Maria Garcia, and Diana Fuller (Chris); great-grandchildren, Khloe, Mila, Cooper, Percy, Josh, Thomas, Hunter, Kadence, Fisher, and Jackson; brother, Ralph and Mary Childers; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 2:00PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Ashley Carver. Interment will follow in Pleasant Olive Baptist Church Cemetery, Rydal. Pallbearers will be Chris Fuller, Michael Buckner, Matthew Buckner, Barry Young, Lee Young, Daniel Hyde, Randy Hyde, and Stoney Smith.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00AM until 2:00PM at Barton Funeral Home.
