Mr. Robert Paul “Bobby” West, age 70, of Summerville, GA, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at a hospital in Rome, GA.
Mr. West was born in Floyd County, GA, on January 28, 1955, son of the late James Homer “Jimmy” West and the late Barbara Eleanor Smith West. He was also preceded in death by 2 siblings, Jennifer Gaye West and Steve West, and by his brother-in-law, Terry Chandler. Mr. West was a diesel mechanic by trade and was owner/operator of West Truck Services for over 40 years. He was a jack-of-all trades and could fix anything he put his hands on. Mr. West was a people person and surrounded himself with friends whenever he could. He would do anything for anyone and even give you the shirt off his back if that was all he had. Mr. West enjoyed hunting and fishing when he was physically able, mainly just to be around friends. He loved his family above all else and was the Rock that his family leaned on. Mr. West was of the Christian faith and is now rejoicing in the presence of Jesus Christ for eternity.
Survivors include his loving wife of over 50 years, Teresa Ann West, Summerville; his son, Rob West (Brittany), Rome; 4 grandchildren, Tyler West, Zoie West, Kadance Wilson, and Zalie Kostreba; a great-grandchild, Mavis West; 6 siblings, Jayne Chandler, Terri Winn (Robert), Karen Bates (Michael), Chuck West, Beth Curles (Tommy), and Scott West (Lisa); his sister-in-law, Diana Mize; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends whom he loved dearly.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. West will be cremated and a Memorial service will be held at 6pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. His son, Rob West, will officiate the service and Mr. Barry Henderson will deliver the eulogy.
The family will receive friends from 4pm until service time on Wednesday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
