Mr. Rickey Joe Allmon, age 74, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

          Rickey was born in Floyd County, Georgia, on September 6, 1950, son of the late John Henry Allmon and the late Mary Frances Brookshire Allmon. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Susan Baxter, grandparents, William & Susie Brookshire, and Robert & Bernice Allmon, and a niece, Shannon Godfrey. Rickey was a graduate of Model High School, Class of 1970, and retired from Rome Fire Department. Rickey served our county in the United States Army, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend; he will be missed by all of his family and friends.

          Survivors include his wife, Joann Hilley Allmon; daughters, Carol Blackburn Cronan (Rodney), and Jennifer Salmon (Joe); sons, David Blackburn (Autumn), and Paul Allmon (Lanie); sister, Louise Godfrey (Mack); 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

          Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, March 28, 2025, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with his grandson, Ryan Hammontree officiating. Interment will be at 1:00pm Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.

         The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 12:00pm until 1:45pm. 

         Active pallbearers include: Christian Davidson, Ryan Hammontree, Ryder Howe, Autumn Blackburn, Josi Gibson, Duke Blackburn, and Bryn Blackburn. 

          Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Gideons International, the Wounded Warrior Project or a charity of your choice.
