Mr. James Buford “Jim” Treglown, age 76, of Silver Creek, GA, overcame his battle with cancer on Friday, January 31, 2025, in the comfort of his home with his family by his side helping him ease into a restful eternal sleep.

Jim was born on April 30, 1948, in Lindale, GA, son of the late Doris Elizabeth Crane Treglown and the late Buford O. Treglown. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald M. Ragan. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army and served his community with the Floyd County Police Department for 37 years. He was a friend to many, known as a legend to many more. To his family, Jim was the best husband, greatest dad on earth and the most loving Papa you could ever ask for.

Back in the summer of 2015, Jim was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Over the past 9 years, he battled with cancer and overcame the odds going further and beyond what doctors estimated with his survival rate. Jim was a fighter. He fought hard for his life, his family, and his friends. Although our hearts are broken, we are at peace because he has been made whole and he’s in his heavenly home rejoicing with his Savior, Jesus Christ, for eternity.

Treglown; 2 daughters, Michelle McElveen (Dan), and Marcie Bennett (Brad); 2 sons, Tim Treglown (Beth), and Brandon Treglown (Jessica); 5 grandchildren, Zack McElveen (Christina), Jack Bennett, Leah Vinson (Jacob), Ellys Treglown, and Kohen Treglown; his first wife and mother to Michelle, Marcie and Tim, Joan Treglown; a brother, Chuck Treglown (Aileen); his sister, Teresa Stanley; a host of nieces and nephews.
