Mr. Cayle Ely Barnes, age 21, of Rome, GA, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at a local hospital.

Cayle was born in Rome, GA, on July 16, 2003, son of Mr. Jason Barnes and Mrs. Casey Bright Barnes. He was a student at Pepperell High School bound for graduation this coming May. Cayle was a participant in the Floyd County Special Olympics each year and loved competing. He also was a former client of Infinity Children’s Services where he received his therapy. Cayle was a member of Floyd Springs Baptist Church and is now rejoicing in the presence of Jesus Christ for eternity.

Cayle loved people. Whether it was field trips, therapy, his shopping trips to Home Depot or Walmart, Cayle just wanted to socialize and was often upset when his parents pulled back in the driveway. He loved UGA Football, hunting, fishing, boating, camping, and anything his dad was doing. Cayle was a daddy’s boy through and through and where you saw one, the other wasn’t far away. He always had a smile on his face that would light up the whole room. Even fighting illness, if someone was around, Cayle was happy. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have remained faithful.” – 2 Timothy 4:7

Survivors include his parents, Jason and Casey Barnes, Rome; his sister, Jaylyn Barnes; his grandparents, Danny and Dawn Barnes, and Tommy and Glenda Bright; his great-grandfather, Dr. Talmadge Barnes; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins whom Cayle loved dearly.
