A Cedartown Middle School teacher, 45 year-old Elizabeth Padge Oliver, and her husband, William David Oliver, 64, were arrested at their Prior Station Road home after a dispute became physical.
Officers said that they they arrived on scene Elizabeth Oliver stated she had been punched in the face by her husband William Oliver. She stated that her daughter had left about a month ago and she had called her asking her for money and she told her she couldn’t do anything about it. She stated she then went to talk to William about it and he was already in bed.
She stated he got out of bed “enraged” and started to hit her in the face. She stated he punched her in the face at least five times.
Elizabeth had some visible red marks on her cheek and had a knot on her forehead between her eyes where she stated he punched her.
While speaking with William, He stated he was in bed and she came in the room and jumped on him and started hitting him in the face. He stated she was punching him. He advised that her behavior has been a re-occurring issue and that it is resulting from her step daughter leaving.
William had visible red marks on his cheeks and the top of his head. He had a small spot of blood behind his left ear.
Both are charged with battery.
