John Higgenbotham, 40 of Calhoun, was arrested this week after he was accused of raping a juvenile child.
Reports said that officers were dispatched to a home on South Line Street.
When officers arrived, the mother of the victim told police that the child told her that Higgenbotham, who goes by “Teddy” had raped her.
The victim reported that Higgenbotham took her for a walk around a nearby church and began to touch her in the private areas of her body.
The victim then stated, she later went inside her home when Higgenbotham followed her in. Once inside, the victim told authorities that he told that “you know you want this”. After the victim told him “no”, Higgenbotham proceeded to get on top of her and penetrate her vaginal area with his sexual organ.
Higgenbotham is charged with rape, aggravated child molestation, four counts sexual battery and aggravated sexual battery.
