Members of the Calhoun-Gordon County Sports Hall of Fame began meeting recently to plan this year’s induction banquet, and the call for new nominees is also underway.
CGCSHF aims to induct a select number of athletes annually, chosen through a vote by the current board and any past inductee wishing to participate. The board also selects one local team from the past to be honored at the banquet each year.
This year’s banquet is scheduled for the ballroom of the Georgia Northwestern Technical College Calhoun campus, 1151 Ga. 53 Spur, on Saturday, Aug. 16.
Since 2015, GCGSHF has added 51 inductees to its ranks, and honored five local teams.

For nominations, please be prepared to provide a photo or photos of the nominee, as well as any supporting information supporting their case for induction such as a list of accomplishments.
A 501(c)3 organization, CGCSHF was formed in 2014 to honor those who have made significant contributions to Calhoun and Gordon County as athletes, coaches, or in other sports-related field.
