Ms. Juanita Ann Simpson, age 85, of Rome, GA, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, January 19, 2025.
Ms. Simpson was born in Floyd County on March 27, 1939, daughter of the late Floyd Conn Payne and the late Annie Irene Payne. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Pat Camp, and the father of her children, Mr. Jack Simpson. Prior to her retirement, she drove a school bus for the Floyd County School System for over 30 years and she was the Pro Shop manager at the Kraftsman Club. She loved the Atlanta Braves, Alabama football, her flowers, fishing, but most of all, she loved her friends and family.
Survivors include her children, Barry Simpson (Robin), Sherri Stowers (Michael), and Sonny Bearden (Richie); her grandchildren, Bryant Simpson, Haley Cagle (Jesse), and Brody Bearden; her great grandchildren, Rowan Cagle, Auria Cagle; her sisters, Shirley Howard and Bonnie Holdon; her brother, Creig Payne (Linda); her fur-baby, McKenzie; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 2:00pm with Greg Payne officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, from 12:00pm until the hour of service.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel on Tuesday by 1:30pm and include Bryant Simpson, Jesse Cagle, Richie Bearden, Brody Bearden, Jody Payne, and Greg Payne; honorary, Brent Higgins, and Michael Stowers.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the care and compassion shown to Ms. Simpson by her caregivers, Jennifer Webb, Angie Crain, her sister Shirley Howard and Charlie Youngblood for working in her yard, cutting the grass.
