Mr. William ‘Wesley’ Latta, IV, age 27, of Rome, GA, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, at his residence.
Wesley was born on April 1, 1997, in Orlando, FL, son of Mr. William Wesley Latta, III. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wesley and Pauline Latta; and his uncle Neal Latta.
Wesley was a graduate of Model High School and then went on to participate in Project Search at Redmond Hospital. He was Georgia Bulldog’s #1 Fan and lived and breathed Georgia Football. He was very active in Skills for Life here in Rome and cherished his mentors there. He was passionate about his family and friends. Wesley was a heart transplant recipient in August of 2014 at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and has been a patient at Emory Transplant Clinic ever since.
Survivors include his father, William Wesley Latta, III; his sister, Chelsea Paschal (Jarrett) and their children, Avery and Weston, Athens, GA; his aunts, Karen Kruger-Cook, Rome, GA, and Melissa Akins (Roger), and their children Brittney and Jennifer, Hiram, GA; his half-sisters, Michelle Stann (Brian), Alpharetta, GA, Kerry Kelly, and Kimberly Lloyd.
Funeral services will be held at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 11:00am with Rev. Robert Vines officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Thursday from 9:00am until the hour of service.
In honor of Wesley’s love for the Georgia Bulldogs, the family ask that you wear red and black or your favorite Georgia attire.
Pall bearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Thursday by 10:30am and include Jarrett Paschal, Roger Akins, Levi Matthews, LaWayne Latta, Clay Koehler, Cody Reeves, Brian Stann, and Porter Payne.
