Mr. Stanley Eugene Ayers, age 62, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at his residence.
Mr. Ayers was born in Cedartown, Georgia on May 20, 1962, son of the late James Edward Ayers and the late Grace Pyles White. Mr. Ayers’ wife, Vickie Lynn Ayers, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024. He was also preceded in death by three grandchildren. Mr. Ayers was of the Baptist faith and worked for several years as a delivery person for the Rome News Tribune. He enjoyed playing golf, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Jennifer Cross (Trevor), Mandi Bailey (Will), and Chad Gravley; a brother, Terry Ayers (Drena); two sisters, Lisa Burnett (Michael) and Petrina Garcia (David); eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. & Mrs. Ayers will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at 4pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. The Rev. Danny Hughes will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Sunday from 2pm until 3:45pm.
