Mr. Richard Dean Wallace, age 95, of Rome, GA, passed away Friday Morning, November 29, 2024, at his residence.
Mr. Wallace was born in Rome on June 14, 1929, a son of the late Hesler and Zuma Lucille Isham Wallace. Richard retired as the Plant Manager of Advanced Glove Mill. After retirement he served as the Captain of the Roman Holiday Cruise Boat and was a member of the Rome Power Squadrons. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and working in his garden. He cherished his time with his family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by his three wives, Effie Mary Wallace, Ida Eden Wallace and Patricia Wallace; and a granddaughter, Channing Wallace.
Mr. Wallace is survived by three daughters, Mary Nell Bailey of Rome, Nancy (William) Humphries of Rome, Angela (Chuck) Evans of Kingston; son, Michael (Darlene) Wallace of Rome; grandchildren: Andrea Kernes, Paul (Donna) Wallace, Michael Evans, Matthew (Meredith) Evans, Caleb (Kayla) Evans, Marshall (Beth) Bailey, Brandy (Jason) Combs, Stacy (Bryan) Clark, Jennifer (Chuck) Bowden; 23 great-grandchildren; 12 great great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Frances Boyd of Rome and Sarah Hann of Woodstock, GA; two brothers, Bobby Wallace of Woodstock, GA and JD Wallace of Panama City Beach, FL. Several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Wallace will be held on Monday afternoon, December 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Pastor Lamar Clarke and Pastor Mike Barone officiating. Interment will follow in Oostanaula United Methodist Church Cemetery following the funeral service.
Mr. Wallace’s family will receive friends at Salmon Funeral Home Monday, December 2, 2024, from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m.
Pallbearers will include Paul Wallace, Marshall Bailey, Michael Evans, Matthew Evans, Caleb Evans and Will Clark.
