Mr. Daniel Robert “Dan” Dean, age 66, of Jasper, GA, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024, in Gainesville, GA.

       Dan was born in Gettysburg, PA, on June 21, 1958, son of Ms. Pauline Fairchild Dean Strickland and the late Willie Bonita Dean. He was also preceded in death his wife, Cheryle “Mimi” Dean, a niece, Candy Clines, and 2 great-nephews, Kaylon Higgins and Jarret Higgins. Dan was a 1976 graduate of Coosa High School where he was a member of the band and the 1st chair trumpeter. Most recently, he worked at Snow Service Inc. in Gainesville, GA, where he was a parts specialist for fueling trailers. Dan was a heck of a banjo picker in his younger days and absolutely loved driving his truck. He owned and operated “Double D Trucking” for many years and was a former client of Snow Services where he fell in love with the company. Dan was a jokester who could make anyone laugh and always knew how to keep you smiling.

       Survivors include his mother, Pauline Strickland, Lindale; 5 siblings, Janet Roberson, Richard Dean (Becky), Tom Dean (Cindy Smith), Mike Dean, Chuck Dean; numerous nieces and nephews.

       In accordance with his wishes, Dan will be cremated and a Celebration of his Life will be held at 5pm on Monday, December 9, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Lindale, 9 Park Ave. SE, Lindale, GA 30147. The Rev. Gary Diggs and the Rev. Eric Whelchel will officiate the celebration.

       The family will receive friends from 3pm until service time on Monday at First Baptist Church of Lindale.
