Mrs. Glenda Jean Pilgrim Hardegree, age 79, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at a local hospital.

Mrs. Hardegree was born in Floyd County, Georgia on March 20, 1945, daughter of the late Grady Pilgrim and the late Lucille Atkins Pilgrim. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Hardegree, by a brother, Raymond Pilgrim, and by a sister, Mary Minter. Mrs. Hardegree was a homemaker and was a member of Unity Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and making quilts for her family and others.

Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Deaton (John); two sons, David Hardegree (Sherri) and Mark Hardegree (Michelle); three brothers, Grover Pilgrim, James Pilgrim, and Grady Pilgrim; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 11am in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Earl Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens with her grandson, Mason Hardegree, officiating.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Thursday from 6 until 8pm.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday at 10:30am and include Cody Deaton, Brandon Deaton, Logan Gladney, Kenneth Hardegree, Adam Longo, Mason Hardegree, and Josh Davis.
