Mrs. Dorothy Estelle “Dot” Hopson Robinson, age 84, of Rome, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, at a local healthcare facility.

Dot was born in Rockmart, Georgia on October 30, 1940, daughter of the late Buster Hopson and the late Bertha Ridgeway Hopson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul X. Robinson, a sister, Daisy Jane Wright, and a great grandson, Tate Ropyr Walker, her grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles. A lifelong resident of Rome, Dot attended Rome High School where she graduated in 1958, the last class of The Hilltoppers. As a teenager and young adult, she had several jobs around Rome including a counter girl at the old Enloe’s Drug Store and the Desoto Theater.

On April 19, 1964, she married her husband of almost 50 years, Paul X. Robinson of Donaldsonville, GA where they lived for a short time before returning to Rome. Dorothy and Paul both worked at Integrated Products of Rome until it closed in the early 1990’s. They had one son, Timothy Lacey “Tim” Robinson, who was born in 1969.

Dot and Paul were members of First Assembly of God Church where they were active for many years and then attended Day Spring Assembly of God. Due to health reasons, Dot had been a resident of Reliable Health Care for the past 15 years, first at 5th Avenue then at the Chulio Hills facilities.

Dot is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tim & Rhonda Robinson; a sister, Nancy Buck; 6 grandchildren, Bryan Walker, Travis & Anna Robinson, Dillon Walker (Brittany Roberts), Christian Robinson, Lacey & Nate Robinson, and Katie Robinson (Jace Carter); 8 great grandchildren, Lane Anderson, Branson Walker, Donovan Robinson, Cayson Walker, Lucas Walker, Decklin Walker, Ivey Carter, and Oaklynn Robinson on the way; a niece, Tiffany Buck.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 3pm in the Chapel of Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Vines officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Monday from 5 until 7pm.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Tuesday at 2:30pm and include Travis Robinson, Christian Robinson, Bryan Walker, Dillon Walker, Nate Robinson, Jace Carter and Chris Brackett.
