Mr. Wayne Thomas Bowen, Sr., age 76, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Bowen was born in Marietta, Georgia on September 6, 1948, son of the late James Thomas Bowen and the late Mary Inez Phillips. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. Mr. Bowen was of the Baptist faith. He worked for many years in manufacturing mills and then retired as a mobile home maintenance manager. Mr. Bowen was an avid fan of Alabama Crimson Tide Football and the Atlanta Braves.

Survivors include three children, Joy Martin (Bill), Wayne Thomas Bowen, Jr., and Candace King (Doug); five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; he had three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with the Rev. Wayne Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the Rome American Legion Honor Guard presenting military honors.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Tuesday from 1pm until the service time.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Tuesday at 1:30pm and include Tyler Rogers, Bobby Medckie, Keith Cromer, Doug King, Dwayne Nelson, and Bryan Russell.
