Mr. Kenneth “Zane” Young, age 69, of Lindale, GA, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at his residence.
Mr. Young was born in Miami, FL, on June 8, 1955, son of the late Marvin Kenneth Young and the late Paulene Bullard Young. He was a graduate of Sprayberry High School and went on to technical school where he received his certificate for electronics technician. Mr. Young began his working career with his father’s television company, Young’s T.V. He then began working in the Polk County School System as an electronics maintenance technician from which he retired after over 30 years of faithful service. Mr. Young was to the Polk County School System what Scotty was to the Enterprise from Star Trek. He was a faithful member of the United Church of God IA.
Mr. Young was an outdoorsman at heart. Whether he was fishing on his boat or out hunting, he loved being in God’s creation. He was a skilled RC plane pilot, which he took great pride in, as well as a certified Ham Radio operator, having received the highest licensing certifications one can achieve. Mr. Young was a skilled marksman throughout his life and was especially interested in air guns in his younger days. Most of all, Mr. Young was dedicated to his skills as an electronics technician always researching the latest technologies and implementing them however he could into his career. He is now fully healed and rejoicing for eternity in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Goss Young, Lindale, to whom he was married on August 25, 2013; 2 sons, Wil Young and Ryan Young (Xxerra Draven); 2 siblings, Neil Young (Sherry) and Anne Laird (Ronald); a niece, Laurie Laird; 2 nephews, Brandon Young and Dustin Young; countless other family, friends, and church family he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Sunday, November 24, 2024, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. His Pastor, Marcus Lucas, will officiate the service and his son, Wil Young, will deliver the eulogy.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1pm until service time at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to either the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association in Zane’s honor.
