Wanda Lea Morgan 74 of Rome, Georgia, sadly passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024.
Born on July 5, 1950, in Maryville, Tennessee, Wanda was the daughter of the late Claude Tipton and Lexi Tipton. She is also preceded in death by her daughter Carrie Tucker, and her brother William Tipton.
Wanda is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Bob Morgan; her children, Tom Wolfe, Angel Simms (Britt), Robert Morgan (Tiffany), and Dani Hammond (Sam); her grandchildren, Stefan Timmons, Sydney Lowrance (Austin), Evan Simms (Taylor Harris), Lainey Simms (Sean Brown), Claire Tucker, Layla Morgan, Norah Lea Hammond, and Eli Hammond; her great-grandchildren, Caden Lowrance and Natalie Lowrance; her siblings, Faye Lovingood (Boyd), Claude Tipton, Henry Tipton (Vickie), and Joe Tipton; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Wanda was a devout member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for many years. She was strong in her faith and strong in her love for others. She would give her last dollar or the shirt off her back because her affinity for generosity was unmatched. Wanda cherished her family with her whole heart and was a loving wife, mother, gram, Onda, sister, and friend. She truly enjoyed volunteering and contributing to her community, primarily Cave Spring. She and her husband Bob dressed up as Santa and Mrs. Claus every year for 28 years not only to participate in the Cave Spring Christmas parade, but to visit local elementary schools, medical facilities, and nursing homes. Giving back to her community was very important to both her and Bob. Wanda was a very funny woman with a great sense of humor. She was a massive Tennessee football fan and enjoyed flowers and gardening. Her passing is a loss that will be felt by not only her friends and family, but her entire community, and she will be sorely missed.
Funeral services will be held for Wanda at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with pastor James Jennings officiating. Wanda will be cremated in accordance with her wishes and will be inurned at a later date. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel for visitation.
