Mr. Andrew Jackson Lumpkin, age 83, of Lindale, GA, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at a hospital in Rome.
Mr. Lumpkin was born in Rome, GA, on May 31, 1941, son of the late Dan Lumpkin and the late Clara Mae Bigham Lumpkin. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Jewel Duke Lumpkin, a son-in-law, Kenneth Wayne Beard, and by a brother, John David Lumpkin. Mr. Lumpkin was a graduate of Armuchee High School. He worked as the warehouse supervisor at “Southern Wholesale” from opening day until the business eventually closed its doors. Mr. Lumpkin enjoyed fishing and cooking for anyone he could. His greatest love was reading his Bible and learning as much about God as possible. Mr. Lumpkin was a member of First Baptist Church of Lindale and is now rejoicing in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for eternity.
Survivors include his daughter, Jackie Beard-Ullery (Marion), Lindale; grandson, Jaxson Wayne Beard; 2 step grandchildren, Chris Ullery (Kera) and Christin Kazel (Michael); 6 step great-grandchildren, Cameron Ullery, Kadence Ullery, Madison Harris, Calob Ullery, Miley Welborn and Judah Ullery; 3 siblings, Bill Lumpkin, Jim Lumpkin and Edna Berry; his very special friends, George and Linda Vinzant; numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Floyd Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Billy Carver will officiate the service.
