Mr. Ronald Wayne Butler, age 63, of Rome, GA, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at his residence, following an extended illness.
Ronald was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 29, 1961, son of the late Fred Willard Butler and the late Myrna Lee Ward Butler. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Douglas “Doug” Butler, and a brother-in-law, John Teeter. Ron was a United States Veteran, having proudly served as an E-4 Sgt. in the United State Air Force from April 1981 through August 1991. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a Draftsman at Advanced Steel Technology.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Mrs. Rose Butler; his children, Mandi Nicole Butler, Manisa Ann Fox, Mark Fox (Mecca), and Desmond “Des” Fox (Taryn); his grandchildren, Dakota Smith, Bodie Fox, Blaine Fox, Jaisey Fox, and Desiree Rose Fox; his brothers, Larry Butler (Sandy), and David Butler; his sisters, Linda Teeter, Carla McCandless (Joe), Cheryl Porter (Bill), and Becky Butler; several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Butler will be cremated. He will be laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery, in Canton, GA, at a later date.
The family will receive friends at the Butler residence on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
