Mr. Robert Devon Couey, age 75, of Rome, GA, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, August 31, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

       Robert was born in Rome, GA, on May 21, 1949, son of the late Abie Ray Couey and the late Bonnie Mae Edwards Couey. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Todd Couey; his grandson, Timothy Couey Jr.; 5 brothers, Edward Ray Couey, Johnny Franklin Couey (Brenda), James Alton Couey, Harold Clayton Couey, and Larry Wayne Couey; a niece, Alison Williams; and a nephew, Edward Couey.

       Mr. Couey was a down to earth guy. Prior to his retirement, he had a long career in the dairy business, most recently as a route driver for Mayfield Dairy. He loved anything racing, NASCAR, reading the newspaper, but not as much as he loved his family.

       Survivors include his son, Timothy Wayne Couey; his granddaughter, Victoria Couey; 2 sisters in law, Elaine Couey and Jan Howard; his loving companion of 22 years, Ms. Robin Parker; a daughter YN1 Petty Officer Mary-Rose Fultz (BU1 Petty Officer Adam C. Fultz [US Navy Ret.]); his 4 grandchildren, that were the light of his eye, Kaylie Clay, Gabriel Fultz, Zoey Fultz, and Sara Fultz; several nieces and nephews.

       Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 10:00am, at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Rev. Robert Vines officiating.

       The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel.
