Carolyn Culp Hopmann, of Alpharetta, GA, passed away on September 18, 2024, 13 days shy of her 87th birthday.
Carolyn was born on October 1, 1937, in Birmingham, AL, to Edith Chenoweth Culp and Walter Montgomery Culp, Sr.
After graduating from Rome High School (Rome, GA) in 1955, and Auburn University in 1959, Carolyn was employed by Delta Air Lines as a flight attendant and in reservation operations. Carolyn was married to Wilfred R. “Hoppy” Hopmann in 1968, and they were blessed with a daughter, Charlotte, in 1970. Carolyn was a devoted wife and mother, and volunteered with Calvary Episcopal Church in Richmond, TX, and The Fort Bend County Fair Association in Rosenberg, TX. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, gardening, and fellowship with family and friends.
Wilfred “Hoppy” Hopmann preceded her in death, as well as her brothers, David Culp, Sr, (Barbara) and Walter Culp, Jr. (Gloria). Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte Hopmann; her sister, Charlotte Culp Owen (James); cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 12 noon until 2pm. A graveside service will be held at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens Gazebo at 2:30pm following the visitation.
