Sarah McCain Hamilton
February 12, 1979 – August 5, 2024

In the quietly vibrant town of Cedartown, Georgia, on a somber Monday, August 5, 2024, the radiant light of Sarah McCain Hamilton was dimmed at the age of 45. Born on February 12, 1979, in Rome, Georgia, she was the beloved daughter of the late James Roger Bell and Florence Esme McCain, whose spirits now surely embrace her.

Sarah’s life was one of profound love and unwavering dedication. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Courtney Hamilton, whose heart now bears the weight of sorrow. Her cherished daughters, Emerald “Taeleigh” Jenkins and Everleigh James, were the very essence of her being, and their loss is immeasurable. In her role as a stepmother, she tenderly guided Telisha Hamilton, Taylor Cato, Pateice Leeks, Voshun Johnson, and Jonathan Johnson, showering them with the same boundless affection.

Her grandchildren, Ja’Mauri Johnson, Ja’iyric Johnson, Marques Hamilton, Teyannah James, Olano Leeks, Ryleigh Wilkins, and S’aige Wilkins, were the joys of her life, each one holding a unique place in her heart. Sarah’s brother, Ben McCain, along with his wife Beth, shared a deep bond with her, and her brother-in-law, Temie Jones, was a steadfast companion in her journey. Her nieces and nephews, Luke Lloyd, Lilly McCain, and Libby McCain, were treasures she held dear.

Sarah was surrounded by a circle of friends whose love and support were constants in her life. Fonda Barton, Carla and Adam Wright, Amy Ogles, Kim Little, Jennifer Floyd, Tommy Johnson, Helen Farmer and Bernice Howell were among those who stood by her side, as well as her cherished work friends who remember her fondly.

Sarah was predeceased by her precious daughter, Tinleigh Grace Anne. Now, in the realm beyond, they are reunited, their spirits intertwined in eternal peace.

Her vivacious personality was a beacon of light to all who knew her. She possessed a sharp wit and an outgoing nature that endeared her to many. Her heart was vast, her generosity boundless. As a nurse, she fulfilled her calling with a deep-seated passion, caring for others with empathy and dedication.

A service to honor Sarah’s life will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Mountain Home Baptist Church Cemtery, located at 165 Mountain Home Loop, Cedartown, GA 30125. Sarah will be laid to rest by pallbearers Adam Wright Jr., Nick Hight, Marques Hamilton, Temie Jones, Jackie Warren, and Tylar Smith.
