Mrs. Betty Humphries, age 92, of Rome,

Mrs. Betty Humphries, age 92, of Rome, GA, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at a local healthcare facility.

       Betty was born in Rome, Georgia, on January 7,1932, daughter of the late Lee Richardson and the late Alma Howren Richardson. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Marion Richerson. She was the pianist at New Canaan Baptist Church for many years before her health would not allow her to any longer. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Humphries was a crossing guard for the City of Rome. She loved to travel, cook, and watch cooking shows.

       Survivors include her son, David Weaver; her cousin, Ken Goewey; and a special friend, Cathy Brock and family.

       Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 2:00pm, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Chris Hearne and Allan Townes officiating. Interment will follow in Lindale Cemetery.

       The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday from 1:00pm – 2:00pm.
