Joanna June Pellegrino, 45 of Rome, was jailed this week after reports said she damaged a police officer’s car while being taken into custody for being drunken and disorderly in public.

Reports stated that officers were dispatched to the Saga Inn on Martha Berry Highway after she appeared in the parking lot yelling and using profane language.

Officers said that while placing her in the patrol vehicle, Pellegrino ripped off a running board.

She was taken to Atrium Health Floyd where she used curse words while screaming and cursing in the parking lot and emergency room.

Pellegrino, a convicted sex offender, was also wanted for failing to notify authorities of a move from her home on East Drive.

Pellegrino is charged with felony interference with government property, two counts felony obstruction, three counts of disorderly conduct, and public drunk and failure to register as a sex offender.
