A thirty-four-year-old woman was arrested on multiple charges after a traffic stop by a Chattooga County Deputy. The incident happened in the predawn hours of August 14th.
According to a report released yesterday by the sheriff’s office, a deputy saw a vehicle fail to come to a stop at a stop sign on Lake Wanda Reita Road and initiated a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop and drove to Norther Heights Circle. A male passenger jumped out of the car and ran on foot between several mobile homes. The deputy drew his service weapon and ordered the driver to exit the vehicle.
The driver was identified as Shanna Francharia Hampton. Hampton told the deputy that the passenger was Stephen Little and that he had told her not to stop. Little had multiple warrants for his arrest.
After a search of the vehicle, Hampton was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule IV drug, possession of marijuana, fleeing or attempting to elude and failure to stop at a stop sign. She was additionally charged with a parole violation and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
