Darrell Edward Collier, 52 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he stole a bank card belonging to 58 year-old man and then made 34 different purchases around town.
The purchases were made between June 7 and June 15 of this year.
Officers located Collier in a private bathroom at 1401 Dean Avenue where he refused to come out despite request.
Collier told police that he had been illegally living there for the past week.
After arriving at the jail, deputies found cocaine in Collier’s possession.
Collier is charged with 34 counts financial transaction card fraud, 34 counts identity fraud, theft by taking, theft by deception, criminal trespass, possession of cocaine and crossing the guard lien with drugs.
