Mr. Anthony William Norman, Sr., age 63, of Rome, GA, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024, at a local hospital.

                Mr. Norman was born in Atlanta, GA, on March 2, 1961, son of the late Jackie McLendon Guthrie.  He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Kelvin Jackson, and by a brother, George McLendon.  Mr. Norman was a graduate of Washington High School in Atlanta.  He enjoyed barbecuing and collecting but his family was everything. Any time spent with family was where he wanted to be. Mr. Norman was of the Baptist faith.

                Mr. Norman was a businessman through and through. He had a knack for new business ventures and could always find ways to make money at his stores.  Mr. Norman owned and operated four different indoor flea markets and one outdoor flea market. He owned and operated Bargain Mall, USA Flea Market at Walkers Garden Center and Anthony’s Place of Bargains putting his heart and soul into each one. Mr. Norman’s true passion in life was mentoring and guiding anyone he could come in contact with. He was a constant Shepherd to his kids, their friends, and anyone that needed help, guiding and instructing them with the love of God. Mr. Norman’s presence will be missed but his legacy will live on forever as he rejoices in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for eternity.

                Survivors include his wife, Rita Norman, Rome; 6 children, Teeki Roberts, Atlanta, Shastoni Burge (Christopher Franklin), Rome, Anthony “T.J.” Burge, Jr., Rome, Daniel Burge, Sr., Rome, Anthony Norman, Jr., and Antonio Pressley; a special grandson who he raised, Chance King Burge; a very special aunt who raised him, Lois McLendon; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; countless others who he claimed as his children and grandchildren and wouldn’t let you tell him any different.

                Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, July 11, 2024, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. John Winston officiating.  Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.

                The family will receive friends from 5pm until 7pm on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.

                Pallbearers are to assemble by 12:30pm on Thursday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, and include: Devon McDougald, Rafe Butler, Dwayne Smith, Jamie Smith, George Fowler, Chris Holmes, Carlos Jones and Christohper Franklin.
