Miss Betty Lou Estes, age 88 of Rome, Ga. passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024, at a Cedartown health care facility.
Miss Estes was born on March 12, 1936, in Centre, Alabama, the daughter of the late Dennis and Amy Lou Knighten Estes. She was a 1955 graduate of Model High School. She worked for many years as a medical records transcriptionist for McCall Hospital and later Floyd Medical Center. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and a longtime resident of the Celanese Community.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles Estes and Larry Estes; and a sister, Deborah Estes. She is survived by a brother, Ray Estes (Mary) of Dallas, Ga. She was also a loving aunt to her nephew David and nieces Beth, Rebecca, Missy, and Cindy. Several great nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Salmon Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. (EDT) at the Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery, Centre, Alabama with Mr. Jerry Adair officiating. Pallbearers include David Estes, Drew Estes, Ben Estes, and Mark Kirkland.
The family would like to thank the staff of Cedar Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their excellent care of Betty during the past two years. Salmon Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
