An inmate at the Floyd County Prison, Jonathan McGee, 43 of Cartersville, has been pronounced dead after being found unresponsive in his cell.
According to reports, McGree overdosed on an unspecified drug on Tuesday.
After being declared brain dead he was pronounced dead on Wednesday.
McGee had been housed at the Floyd County Prison since April of 2023 on burglary charges.
