Mrs. Nina Faye Green, age 91, of Rome

Mrs. Nina Faye Green, age 91, of Rome, GA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 17, 2024, at a local assisted living facility.

                Mrs. Green was born in Sail, GA, on February 25, 1933, daughter of the late Leon Anthony Shiver and the late Mattie Lou Shipman Shiver.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bobby Green, and by 2 sons, Anthony Harl Green and Walter Wayne Green.  Mrs. Green was a graduate of Rome High School.  She spent most of her working career in the childcare industry, working at various daycares. Mrs. Green also taught remedial reading and math at Pepperell Middle School for many years. She became quite the artist in her later years and loved coloring and painting.  Mrs. Green also enjoyed playing Bingo and putting puzzles together.  She was a member of McFall Baptist Church.

                Survivors include her daughter, Bobbie Sylve, Rome; her brother, Walter Ray Shiver, Moultrie, GA; 5 very special friends, Serenity and Lashay Jean-Pierre, Kevin and Keiyrn Roberts, and Amelia Voila; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

                Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, June 22, 2024, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with her the Rev. Kent Thomas officiating.  She will be interred next to her husband at Lindale Cemetery.

                The family will receive friends from 12pm until service time on Saturday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
