Mrs. Katherine Lee Ray Shook, age 74, of Rome, GA, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Shook was born in Rome, GA, on October 7, 1949, daughter of the late James Ray and the late Margaret Ray. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Eunice Allen, her brothers, James Ray Jr. and Rodney Ray. She was a graduate of East Rome High School and had extensive training in Adult Special Education. Katherine worked as a Special Education Teacher at Network Day Services prior to her retirement.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Willam Shook, of Rome; her daughters, Christina Holtzclaw and Angela Vicente, both of Rome; her son, William H. Shook Jr., of Boardman, OH; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; her sisters, Frissie Vinson and Linda Pope, both of Rome, GA; her 64 foster children; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Pastor Paul Vinson will officiate the service.
Honorary pallbearers include: David Holtzclaw, David Holtzclaw Jr., Alfredo Vicente, Wagner Vicente, Daniel Smith, William H. Shook Jr., and Dylan Shook.
