Mrs. Jery Compton Morris, age 93, of Silver Creek, GA, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024, at a hospital in Rome, GA.

                Mrs. Morris was born in Wink, TX, on November 13, 1930, daughter of the late Curley Compton and the late Melissa Lee Clark Compton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Olds Morris, 2 sons, Mike Gerald Welch and Mark Kevin Welch, and by a sister, Billie Compton.  Mrs. Morris worked as an RN at Floyd Behavioral Health for 27 years before her retirement.

                Family was everything to Mrs. Morris, especially her grandchildren, and she was always looking to spend more time with them.  Wednesday nights were spent feeding the family and having the grandchildren sleep over. As they got older, Mrs. Morris would have the family over on Tuesdays and Thursdays for sweets and movie nights. She was a handywoman if there ever was one and could fix anything her family needed.  Mrs. Morris loved planting flowers, reading and beach trips with her family. She was a member of the Lindale United Methodist Church.

                Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Green (Michael), Silver Creek; 3 grandchildren, Adam Green (Jessie), Matthew Green, and Hannah Payne (Aaron); 2 great granddaughters, Olivia Green and Tatum Payne; her sister, Linda Thomas (Glenn); and a niece and nephew, Cheryl and Jack.

                A private family graveside service will take place at Floyd Memory Gardens
