Mr. Billy Joe “Bill” Case, age 81, of Rome, GA, entered into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at a local hospital.
Mr. Case was born in Bluff City, TN, on June 7, 1942, son of the late Cornelius B. Case and the late Hallie Woolf Case. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ogden Case. Mr. Case was a 1959 graduate of Tennessee High School and was a veteran of the Army National Guard of Tennessee. He worked in finance for over 42 years with the last 33 years spent with APEX Finance where he was the finance manager until his retirement.
Mr. Case loved Jesus, his girls and The University of Tennessee Football. His mission in life was to spread the name of Jesus to everyone he could. Mr. Case was constantly witnessing whenever the opportunity presented itself. At one time he was visiting over 15 nursing homes from Centre, AL, Cedartown, Calhoun and Rome, spreading the love of His savior and handing out Gospel tracts. Mr. Case faithfully attended North Rome Church of God for over 40 years and served as an usher for the majority of that time.
Survivors include his wife of over 58 years, Nancy Childers Case, Rome; his daughter, Vicki Blair (Rusty), Rome; a granddaughter, Abby Heard (Cole), New Orleans, LA; 2 great-granddaughters, Ansley and Caroline Heard; nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Case will be cremated and no formal services will be held at this time.
