Mrs. Tommie Sue Bruce Shepherd, age 94, of Rome, GA, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024.
Tommie was born on July 6, 1929, daughter of the late Tom & Ethel Bruce. She was also preceded in death by the love of her life for 73 years, Ray Shepherd, to whom she was married on April 2, 1949, her six brothers, James Bruce, Cecil Bruce, William Defoy (Red) Bruce, Bobby Bruce, John Bruce, Ken Bruce, two sisters, Dorothy Bruce McDougal, and Faye Bruce Williams.
Mrs. Shepherd enjoyed serving as a member of Sherwood Forest Baptist Church throughout her adult life. She worked as an operator for many years and was a member of the AT&T Pioneers.
Survivors include her four sons, Ray Nathaniel Shepherd, Jr. (Melissa), Acworth, GA, Thomas Michael Shepherd (Susan), Lilburn, GA, John Bruce Shepherd (Susanne), Adairsville, and David Wayne Shepherd, Rome; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel. Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 11:45am on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel.
