Mr. Charles David Gilmore, age 61, of Rome

Mr. Charles David Gilmore, age 61, of Rome, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at his residence.

                Mr. Gilmore was born in Rome, Georgia on November 12, 1962, son of Dorothy Akins Pendergrass and the late Charles William Gilmore.  He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Buzz Pendergrass, and by a grandfather that he very close with, Chester Akins.  Mr. Gilmore was of the Baptist faith.  Prior to becoming disabled, he worked for several years at Bekaert.

                Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Pendergrass; two sons, Ethan Gilmore and Austin Gilmore; three grandchildren, Lucy, Grayson, and Arden; his fiancé’, Janice Broome and her daughter, Keely Overby; 2 sisters, Debra Alverson and Robin Atkinson; a brother, Chris Gilmore; nieces and nephews.

                The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 5 until 7pm.  A private graveside service will be held later.
