Melissa Margret Thacker Henderson, age 42, of Cave Springs, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024. Melissa was a devoted mother, beloved grandmother, cherished sister, and loving fiancée whose presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
Melissa was the loving mother of Sierra Lingerfelt, Halee Henderson, and Rayce Henderson, and the adoring grandmother to Madilyn Lingerfelt. Her family was her world, and she poured her heart into nurturing and supporting them. She also leaves behind her twin brother, Donnie Thacker (Felecia); sisters Tina Hiles (Tommy), Tanya Barfield (Danny), Jacque Thacker, Sandee Rohne (Jim), and Deayna Woodruff (Kevin); and her fiancé, Mike Baxter. Each of these relationships was deeply meaningful to her, reflecting the depth of her love and care.
Melissa was preceded in death by her mom Deborah Thacker and her father Donald Thacker.
Melissa’s selfless decision to be an organ donor is a true reflection of her compassionate and generous spirit. Through this final act of kindness, she will touch the lives of many, leaving a legacy of hope and compassion that will endure.
Her immense love for her children and family will forever be etched in our hearts. Melissa’s big heart and selfless nature were evident in everything she did, and her memory will be a lasting memorial to all her loved ones.
The family invites all who knew and loved Melissa to join them in celebrating her life at the memorial visitation on Monday, May 27, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 2750 Shorter Avenue, Rome, GA 30165. This will be a time to honor and remember the wonderful woman who touched so many lives with her warmth and kindness.
