Tieka Tawanna Daniel Izor, 32 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she allowed her child to be truant at school for over 16 unexcused days.

Reports stated that Izor allowed her 9 year-old son to miss numerous days without an excuse.  The school said that on January 8th, a letter was sent home from the truancy treatment team notifying her of 15 unexcused absences for her child.   Then on February 22, a certified letter was sent after the student continued to miss days of school.

After the student was again absent in March, an arrest warrant was taken out for Izor.

Izor is charged with the mandatory education of children.
