Ms. Teresa Gail Trotter, age 73, of Lindale, GA, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at a local nursing home after a long illness.
Teresa was born in Rome, GA, on January 10, 1951. Her parents, Ruby and Roy Dawson, were expecting a big baby boy when to their surprise a set of twin girls arrived. Teresa weighed 4 ½ pounds with blue eyes and blonde curls. She is survived by her twin sister, Patricia, and her brother-in-law, Charlie Gilbreath. She is also survived by a special first cousin, Lynn Smith (Danny). She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Blake Trotter.
Teresa graduated from Pepperell High School. She started work at Millican’s Grocery Store/Piggly Wiggly in Lindale, where she was employed for more than 40 years. She loved her customers and thought of them as members of her family. Many Shoppers would stand in her line to talk to Teresa. She knew their family and their grandchildren by name.
Teresa will be remembered for her kindness and true concern for everyone she met. In fact, many people thought of her as the “Dear Abby” of Lindale. The family would like to thank the staff at Chulio Hills Health & Rehabilitation and the staff at AdventHealth-Redmond for their wonderful care of Teresa.
In accordance with her wishes, Ms. Trotter will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 3pm on Sunday, April 7, 2024, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Eric Whelchel officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2pm until service time on Sunday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
