Mrs. Phyllis Lee Arnold Hammond, age 64, of Rome, GA, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at a local healthcare facility.
Mrs. Hammond was born in Rome, GA, on October 1, 1959, daughter of the late Bobby Gene Arnold and the late Lilla Tomasetti Arnold. She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, Mr. Jerry Hammond, and her brother-in-law, Cash Covington.
Phyllis graduated from West Rome High School and went on to continue her education, graduating from Auburn University and obtaining her master’s degree from Berry College. She was Director of Financial Systems and Processes for Mohawk Industries. Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, and friend, she will be missed by all.
Survivors include her husband, Robert “Roby” Jerome Hammond Jr.; her son, Robert “Bobby” Thomas Hammond; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Virginia Hammond; her sisters-in-law, Allison Odom (Shaun), and Maryann Covington; her nephew, Tyler Odom (Colleen); her nieces, Alex Odom, and Cassie Covington; her great nephew, Harrison Odom; several other family members also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Garden Lakes Baptist Church. Her pastor, Dr. Jimmy Gentry, will officiate the service.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until service time on Friday at Garden Lakes Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family request that you consider donating, in Mrs. Hammond’s Memory, to the Breast Cancer or Parkinson’s Disease organization of your choice, or Garden Lakes Baptist Church.
