Mrs. Mary Josephine Outlaw, age 92, of Silver Creek, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at a local healthcare facility.

                Mrs. Outlaw was born in Rome, Georgia on February 2, 1932, daughter of the late Clinton Powell and the late Vesta Williams Powell.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Horace Buford Outlaw, by 2 sons, Buford Michael Outlaw and James Gregory Outlaw, by a sister, Patsy Powell, and by a brother, James Clyde Powell.  Mrs. Outlaw was a member of Unity Baptist Church and attended the Sanctuary in Taylorsville.  She worked for many years as a hairdresser.

                Survivors include a son, Mark Outlaw (Cheryl Duvall); several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

                Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel with Rev. Charles Lively officiating.  Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.

                The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday from 12pm until 1:45pm.

                Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel on Tuesday at 1:30pm and include Andrew Outlaw, Austin Outlaw, Michael Brewer, Ronnie Bryant, Russ Barlow, James Rush, and Gary Rush.
