Mrs. Dora Estelle Pyles Lance, age 77, of Rome, GA, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Lance was born in Rome, GA, on February 24, 1947, daughter of the late Dora Bell Phillips Pyles. She was also preceded in death by a great grandson, Gavin Amos. Dora attended Coosa High School in her early years. She was a Bus Driver for the Floyd County School System for 40 plus years prior to her retirement in 2011.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Mr. Donald Ray Lance; her children, Angela Amos (Buford), Doug Lance, Rodney Lance (Tammy), and Michael Lance (Lisa); her grandsons, Adam Lance, Jake Lance, and Dusty Amos; her granddaughters, Holly Amos, Krissy Watkins, Lacey Merritt, Jessica Hooper, Hope Lance, Madison Boaz, Kayla Terry, and Kayce Camp; her great grandsons, Hadden McNabb, Noah McNabb, Mason McNabb, Ethan Hooper, Emmett Camp, Ryker Watkins, Elijah Merritt, and Braxton Amos; her great granddaughters, Lillie Hooper, Callie Blake Boaz, JoAnna Lance, Addyson Landrum, Millie Kate Camp, and Savannah Amos; her siblings, Jack Pyles (Marilyn), Buck Pyles, Jodi Massingill, and Jewell Johnson (Keith); numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Pisgah Baptist Church, with Pastor Jerry Dudley officiating. Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, with her grandsons and great grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am until service time on Friday, at Pisgah Baptist Church.
