Summerville Police Chief Harold Tucker has announced his plans to retire after thirty-six years of service to the city.

Tucker says that he plans to spend time with family and his granddaughter and is leaving the door open for the possibility of some other career.  Tucker has spent his adult life with the Summerville Police Department.

He became a sergeant in June of 1990 and then was promoted to lieutenant later that same year.  In 1998, he achieved the rank of captain and then became chief when former Police Chief Stan Moseley retired.

Tucker says that June 28, 2024 will be his last day with the Summerville Police Department.
