Maggie Marie Hagerity, 20 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she lied to police and her insurance agency about her car being stolen.

Hagerity reported to police that her 2013 Mercedes Benz was stolen off Broad Street on March 12th.  However, video surveillance captured Hagertity getting into her vehicle and driving south on Broad Street before making a right turn on West 1st Avenue then again a right on 2nd Avenue.  Ten minutes later she was observed traveling on foot at the intersection of 3rd Avenue before returning to Giggity’s and making the false report.

Her vehicle was found at the Rome Transit Department’s East 1st Street parking lot.

Hagerity is charged with false report of a crime.
