Paul W. Rampley passed away on Friday March 15, 2024, at his home of over 50 years with his family by his side. 

Mr. Rampley was born in Floyd County, Georgia, on November 4, 1936, son of the late Paul B. Rampley and the late Ruth Rosson Rampley.  He was also preceded in death by his son, Rex L. Rampley, brother, Emory L. Rampley, and daughter in-law, Susan L. Rampley.

Mr. Rampley grew up in the Shannon area attending Model School. He served in the military for ten years having served in Europe, the Pacific at Fort Shafter Hawaii, Special Duty in Okinawa at Clark Air Base in the Philippines, and later Fort Benning, GA. Paul joined the Rome City Police Department in 1965 and, after serving for 30 years, retired in 1995.

He was a faithful member of West Rome Baptist Church for over 30 years, Fellowship Baptist Church for 10 years, and joined Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church in 2018. Mr. Rampley was a humble servant, teaching and always telling others about Jesus, and constantly studying his Bible. One of his most enjoyable experiences in life was taking his father to the Holy Land in 1979.  He is now rejoicing in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He will be greatly missed. 

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Atchley Rampley; sons, Rick Rampley (Tracy), of Lindale, GA, and Ray Rampley, of Rome, GA; 2 grandchildren, Meagan Audas (Chris), of Mount Washington, KY, and Wes Rampley (Brittney) of Rome, GA; 3 great grandchildren, AJ Audas, of Mount Washington, Marlow Rampley and Ember Rampley, of Rome; brother-in-law, Dewey Atchley, of Rome; and sister-in-law, Libby Gilbreath, of Rome.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the people at Transitions Hospice.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm. Private family graveside service will be held at Georgia National Cemetery at later date.
