Mrs. Barbara Nell Crumley Cambron, age 84, of Rome, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at a local nursing home.

                Mrs. Cambron was born in Floyd County, GA, on April 1, 1939, daughter of the late Clarence Crumley and the late Nellie Dewberry Cambron.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jay Cambron, her companion of over 20 years, Eugene McGinnis, her sister, Linda Wilson, and by 3 brothers, Junior Crumley, Raymond Crumley and Eugene Crumley. Mrs. Cambron worked in the bakery at Piggly Wiggly for many years before her retirement and was well known for the wedding cakes she could create. She enjoyed traveling to the beach but had a special love for Harrah’s and Cherokee.  Mrs. Cambron loved the entertainment the casinos offered and was known to win some money every now and then. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

                Survivors include her brother Ronald Crumley (Peggy); and several nieces and nephews.

                A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel. The Rev. Tom Baxley will officiate the service.

                The family will receive friends from 2pm until service time on Wednesday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel.

                The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pruitt Health/Hospice of Rome as well as Chulio Hills Health & Rehab for their tireless care and compassion of Mrs. Cambron.
